Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
YouJavu is a calendar that walks backwards through your life and shows your own photos, videos and notes from each day. It is built around one promise: nothing leaves your phone.
What the app reads on your phone
- Photos and videos. With your permission, YouJavu reads the date each photo or video was taken so it can show the ones from the day you are travelling to. You can give access to all photos, selected photos only, or none. Showing your own photos from a chosen day is the core purpose of the app.
- Calendar (optional, off by default). If you turn it on, YouJavu reads event titles from your phone's calendar for the day you are travelling to.
- Notifications. If you allow them, YouJavu sends one daily reminder, a heads-up before special days, and a message when a sealed note opens.
What the app stores
Your start date, notes, good days, hidden days, special days, sealed notes, your chosen name and your settings are stored only on your phone. A copy of any photo you seal is saved in the app's private folder so the seal still opens if the original is deleted from your gallery.
What the app does not do
- No internet connection is used. The app does not request network access.
- No account, no login, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
- Nothing is uploaded, shared or sold. We never see your data.
- Cloud backup of app data is switched off.
Data safety summary
YouJavu does not collect or share any user data. All processing happens on your device.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling YouJavu removes everything it stored. "Reset journey" in Settings clears the journey. Deleting a sealed note removes its private photo copy. Because no data is sent to us, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Children
YouJavu is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page and with the app update.
